"Copper graphics" Dry point engraving, aqua-tint etching / etching are the primary techniques I use. The inspiration for my pictures often comes when I am out in the forests here in Värmland. Other times I work from images I find internally. For me, its important that I continually challenge myself, to discover new things. It's a matter of finding the place where the technical meets the intuitive. To call yourself an artist you must enter wholeheartedly into your project. To strive for improvement, to never fall into thinking "that sells well!", but to always move on. It is a journey of discovery though your inner. For me, artistic creation is an extension of my inner being. I work a lot with contrasts, light and dark. I choose to work in a slow and detailed manner with my pictures. Whether I am working with an engraving or a drawing, several months can often pass before I feel satisfied with it. People often experience my pictures as religious, and to a large extent they are spiritually inspired. God is my inspiration, guide, hope and security in life. Magnus Hedman
